Sigma Theta Tau International is the honor society for nursing, with a mission to advance world health, support nursing excellence, and provide opportunities for scholarly growth. Members include more than 135,000 nurses and midwives who live in more than 90 countries. The 44th Biennial Sigma Theta Tau International Conference was held this fall in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was an exciting five days at the conference, with over 2,000 nurses working together to celebrate nursing excellence and advance global health.
Excelsior College and Empire State College form the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, which is called Tau Kappa at Large. This year, Tau Kappa at Large was honored to receive the prestigious Key Award for the second time at the 44th Biennial Conference. The Key Award honors chapters that excel in chapter-related activities.
Nursing students who excel in their studies can be invited to join Tau Kappa at Large. If you should receive such an invitation, seize the opportunity to be a part of an organization dedicated to global health and nursing excellence!
