Whether you are almost finished with your degree requirements or perhaps just beginning with Excelsior courses, you may be interested in knowing how to graduate with an honors designation. The honors distinction will be indicated on both your diploma and your transcript.

Associate Degrees

Students must have earned a minimum of 40 graded credits, with an overall GPA as indicated below; this includes both Excelsior courses and transfer credit.

Honors     3.50 – 3.74

High Honors     3.75 – 3.89

Highest Honors     3.90 and above

Baccalaureate Degrees (Latin Honors)

Students must have earned a minimum of 60 graded credits, with an overall GPA as indicated below; this includes both Excelsior courses and transfer credit.

Cum Laude     3.50 – 3.74

Magna Cum Laude     3.75 – 3.89

Summa Cum Laude     3.90 and above
